SECONDARY RESEARCH & CHALLENGE
During the secondary research my main goal was to understand what are the main pain points when it comes to healthy lifestyle and habits. This is how I came across longevity topic: many people feel lost when it comes to aging and taking care of their body and mind as they get older.

I also summed up some key findings about people's attitude towards aging:

-
The biggest concerns when it comes to ageing are connected with potential mobility issues, such as arthritis and joint deterioration, followed closely by cancer of any kind and cognitive decline.
-
Genetic makeup “accounts for only 25% of human lifespan variability.” Instead, lifestyle factors have a profound effect on human longevity. These include: diet and nutrition, exercise frequency and type, stress management and social interaction

-
The existing apps that address longevity focus mostly on biomarkers and not on day-to-day routine, while daily tracking for healthy habits usually focus on single topic separately: sports, nutrition, meditation etc.

This brought me to formulating the challenge:
"How might we help people feel more in control when it comes to aging and take better care of their body and mind?"

SURVEY & INTERVIEWS
To move forward with ideation, I first wanted to understand what people around me think about aging and conducted a survey. With 58 respondents which consisted of 52% female and 75% aged from 30 to 40 y.o the main finding was that 47% were concerned about healthy aging.

Important habits of healthy aging (most rated)

2. Healthy diet
3. Sleep routine
Here are some thoughts from 5 user interviews:
"Getting older is something I think about, but it's more about taking care of my health now so I can keep enjoying life later."
Andrea, 36
"For me it’s important to get old in a healthy way. I would like to be able to always move by myself and stay in clear mind."
Tom, 30
"The mistakes people do are lack of physical mobility, they don’t do enough to be in a good shape, don't follow diet."
Liz, 34

CONCEPT TESTING, MID-FI & ITERATIONS

Here is an initial concept with low-fi wireframes, where we presented users with an app idea of completing weekly action plans that help to age in a healthier way. The plans were focused on 3 most important areas from our research and interviews: physical health, mental health and nutrition.
Each week the user needs to complete the action plan for each area, the actions can be edited. If one does not achieve the goal, there are some details on how it affects one's body and health. We also included a feature of tracking how one's actions can potentially prevent certain chronic diseases.

After confirming that users liked our concept with low-fi wireframes, we proceeded to testing with our mid-fi.
Overall, users understood the flow and main features of the app: onboarding, home screen with 3 weekly plans focusing on physical activity, mental health and nutrition, chronic disease prevention and library with dedicated articles on healthy aging. However, some buttons and placement of elements created confusion. Also, users wanted more flexibility of tracking and personalised tips.

MOODBOARD & STYLE TILE
In our moodboard we wanted to convey empowerment and insightfulness into the process of aging. Green color as symbol of earth and nature combined with calmness of blue hue seemed to us like a perfect combination for the app.

Our Style Tile included Poppins typeface for all the text in the app and Montagu Slab typeface for the logo. We also decided to go for rounded shapes to add some softness and gentle care.

MEASURE SUCCESS & KEY LEARNINGS
In order to establish if this MVP will be successful, it will be necessary to measure the number of users, their activity and reviews. After this data is collected and analysed, we can determine what should be iterated.
Working on this project I learnt a lot, among the most valuable challenges I would name maintaining prioritising the essential features, constant reminder of testing ideas and making informed decisions.
